Autodesk MotionBuilder

Autodesk MotionBuilder 2011Autodesk® MotionBuilder® 2011 software delivers features that enable it to integrate more smoothly and reliably into production pipelines. With extended animation layers that closely match those in Autodesk® Maya® 2011 software, a more consistent method for handling materials, and native support for Autodesk® FBX® 2011 asset exchange technology, artists will find it easier to use MotionBuilder 2011 alongside certain other products. In addition, skinning and blendshape deformations are now calculated on the GPU, the in-viewport experience is significantly more interactive, and playback many times faster, while the Story Tool offers greater stability and performance.

The latest release of Autodesk MotionBuilder motion capture and 3D character animation software offers:

  • Optimization of the MotionBuilder 3D animation engine – Benefit from superior performance when working with large-scene files.
  • Faster nonlinear editing with the Story Tool – Edit data-heavy animation sequences efficiently, and create high-quality cinematics for shot pre-visualization.
  • Enhanced pose control support – Capture poses and apply them to other objects for rapid reuse of animations.
  • Support for user-defined keying groups – Work more efficiently with custom rigs, props, cameras, and lights.
  • Exposure of the Actor tool in Python® scripting – Help to automate the setup and transfer of motion-capture data onto a character.
  • Support for connecting multiple simulated objects – Use joints to hook props onto a character and have the secondary animation automatically solved by the physics engine.
